Its Sept. 20th and still no Maddie. Heather is having good and bad days. It seems the bad always follows the good. I think she tries to do too much on the good days and it causes the bad but thats my opinion. We were planning to induce on Thursday but Heather is having second thoughts. She's afraid it will make labor worse and Maddie is due Saturday anyway. Nathan is fighting a strange illness that started on about the 10th. He is breaking out in hives. We think it is an allergic reaction to something but we have eliminated all the new foods in his diet and can not identify anything else. The Dr has prescribed Zyrtec for him and that seems to help the hives. He has not slept well for the last 2 nights. I'm afraid its the Zyrtec but its too early to be sure.

Well, Maddie still hasn't come to see us. Heather is getting really miserable too. She is having very strong contractions which keep her awake at night and Maddie doesn't like them either so she is kicking a lot. Heather's parents came to stay with us for a week or so when Huricane Francis went through. They didn't have any real damage but the power was out for about a week at their house. We only got a lot of rain and wind. Our power was out for an hour and a half. Our yard is covered in limbs and I haven't taken the time to clean it up because Hurrican Ivan is headed this way now. Heather has gone to get a pedicure. She's having a rough time and needed some pampering.

No baby yet. We spent a few hours in the hospital Monday Night because the contractions got fairly severe and regular (4 minutes apart) but they didn't stay that way and she hadn't dilated anymore than she was earlier in the day (2 centimeters). I kept Heather in the bed Tuesday and she had very few and minor contractions. Yesterday and last night we thought Maddie may come to see us but just another false alarm... she didn't quite lead us as much as she did Monday, we didn't actually go to the hospital. Heather is out running errands today so I anticipate a lot of contractions. I can't keep her tied down. She tried to vacuum the house yesterday.

Well, it looks like Maddie is going to come see us this week. Heather has had a lot of contractions for the last week. She had a Drs. Appt on Monday and was dialated to 2 centimeters. I was in Denver for a sales meeting and caught the next flight home anticipating a delivery last night or today. The contractions got very regular and fairly intense last night so we packed up and went to the Hospital. They checked her out and sent us home. Heather went to bed and the contractions died out. She has had a few minor ones today but very few. I guess Maddie is going to be the problem child :)

I just got back from Nashville where I picked up a new to us bedroom suite. We found a Henredon Sleigh bed on ebay and Heather negotiated the purchase of the rest of the suite. I guess we are stepping up. We just got the box springs off the floor a couple years ago and our bedroom furniture has been a hodge podge of stuff. Those are the scrifices when you buy what you want when you can afford it and not a minute sooner.

Its been a while since my last update and a lot has happened. My father is doing much better. He is healing and gaining strength everyday. Nathan celebrated his first Birthday. We had aparty for him on May 1st... his Birthday is May 10th. He had so much fun playing with the other children and everyone that he refused a nap and ended up falling asleep at the height of the party. He just couldn't go on anymore. Nathan and Heather went to visit her parents a couple weeks ago. I was suffering from a little nasal infection and could not expose Dan to it so I stayed home. Heather's pregnancy is progressing well. She is managing her blood sugar better. She was just tested for gestational diabetes and results were much better than those during her pregnancy with Nathan. She has started suffering from heartburn so Madeline will have a head of hair if the old wives tale holds true. We had a few people over this weekend to spend some time on the lake and fellowship. Nathan went for his first inner tube ride and Heather went with him making her first ride of the summer, too. I guess that means Madeline had her first tube ride too. Our pursuit of a nanny has been kind of quite lately but we need to start pursuing that more seriously. Speaking of getting serious. I haven't finished that rental house yet either. Its a struggle for me to leave the family to work on that when I want to be with Nathan and Heather and I want to take some of the household and caring for Nathan burden off of Heather.

Heather had a Doctors appointment today. Everything is progressing normally. The heartbeat was strong and normal. We'll have an ultrasound during our next visit on May 10th (Nathan's 1st Birthday). We should be able to find out the sex then.
We spent Good Friday and Easter weekend with Heather's parents. Nathan got to play in Blakely's pool and her new Jumpolene. The water was a little cold but he had fun. Dan's computer went down on him a couple weeks ago and I spent Friday and Friday Night restoring the hard drive. So he is back in business.

Nathan said bye bye to me today when Heather was leaving with him for daycare. He said it to Heather a while back but this is the first time he said it to me. He has also been waving periodically for a couple weeks but is just now getting consistent waving when you say bye bye and wave to him. This morning I was waving and saying bye bye and nathan was trying to mouth the words first and Heather asked what he was doing. I said he is trying to say bye bye and then he said it. It was pressious. Heather almost cried.

We went out in the boat for the first time this year. Nathan was a little fussy at first but we stopped at the Campbell's, gave him a bottle, he napped a little bit and was much better on the way back home. He enjoyed standing up and letting the wind blow in his face.
Nathan really dislikes the life jacket the most. It is a little snug around his face and his movement is restricted.

My Father had emergency surgery today. They found a perforated Divaticulitis (sp?). Nothing showed up in X-Rays until this morning and at that point something had to be done immediately. They do not know if this is the cause of his recent illness or the symptom of something bigger. He came through the surgery fine. His platelet counts were low so there was a lot of bleeding and there is a fear of internal bleeding and infection.

Nathan went to stay with Gigi and Poogoo (Heather's mom and dad) this week. Heather had to go to Michigan again for more Six Sigma training and I was making sales calls and visiting my father near the end of the week. Heather and I went down to Lake City in Saturday to pick up the little rug rat.
Gigi found it much easier to feed Nathan candy (fruit) than vegitables... imagine that. Just kidding. Nathan was fussy one night and fruit was the only thing she could get him to eat. I have teased her about it though.
We were worried about Nathan being to active to sit in Poogoo's lap but Dan found that if cartoons were on Nathan would sit still so Nathan was spoiled with cartoons and candy.
Gigi and Poogoo took Nathan to the park. He loved the swing but wasn't too sure about the slide. He was also fascinated by wind.

Nathan fed himself for the first time tonight. We went to Harbor Point for dinner. Nathan loves bread and we normally feed him small bites. Tonight Heather broke the bread into small bites and put it on a napkin in front of Nathan. With a little coaching Nathan picked it up and it was all we could do to keep the boys plate (napkin) full.

Nathan is going to be a Big Brother!!! Yeah that's right. I know we said we were done but God has blessed our family again. Heather found out while she was in Michigan working and told me on Saturday when she got home. We told her parents the following day and my parents this weekend when they came over to visit. Heather had a bib made for Nathan that says "Big Brother" . That's how she told me and how we told our parents :)
We went to the Dr today and had and ultrasound done to see if everything was OK. All looks good and we saw a heart beat!!!! The tentative due date is September 25th.
